The holiday region DONAURIES encompasses a regional backdrop in the federal states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. It is located approximately in the middle between Nuremberg and Augsburg. The region covers four districts with different landscape features. Evidently typical are the UNESCO Global Geopark Ries, the Monheim Alb, the Danube-Lech area and the Kesseltal. In addition, the largest continuous river in southern Germany around the Danube estuaries of Wörnitz and Lech enliven the family-friendly area.
